Tickets to see the legendary basketball team in Abu Dhabi on sale now
Abu Dhabi, October 10, 2012: Harlem Globetrotter superstars Buckets
Blake and Hi-Lite Bruton put on a dazzling display of basketball skills ahead
of the incredible Globetrotter event in Abu Dhabi on October 27.
Tickets are selling fast for the iconic
team’s long-awaited return to the capital, which will see lunchtime and evening
games take place at the outdoor Tennis Stadium in Zayed Sports City.
This morning (WEDNESDAY) a group of local
schoolchildren were treated to an awesome display of freestyle basketball made
famous by the travelling exhibition team.
The duo performed amazing slam-dunks,
dribbled multiple balls, scored ‘four pointers’ and showed jaw-dropping athleticism
to an awe-struck audience, offering a taste of what is to come.
Buckets Blake said: “We’re really excited
about bringing our show to the UAE capital on October 27. Abu Dhabi is an
amazing place that loves both sport and entertainment so the show is right at
home here.
“It’s going to be a great couple of games
that nobody in Abu Dhabi should miss out on. This is entertainment like you’ve
never seen before.”
At the two games children from the audience
will get the chance to meet and speak with players on the court, where they’ll also
be shown how to perform skills.
Barry Bremner, Director of Business at
Zayed Sports City, said the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters were a perfect
fit for an event in Abu Dhabi.
He said: “Today has been a small taste of
what’s to come from these amazing athletes.
“What these guys do during a full show is
absolutely mind blowing. It’s a brilliant display of athleticism, entertainment
and comedy all rolled into one amazing show – the likes of which Abu Dhabi loves
but hasn’t seen for a while.”
The first of the two shows gets under way
at 2pm on Saturday, October 27, with the second and final show starting at 7pm.
Tickets start at 125 AED for single
tickets, with a family pass for four costing 400 AED.
