Fun Tours at Global Village

Eco-Friendly Transportation to Reflect Culture of Nations

Global Village, the region’s leading Cultural, Shopping and Entertainment family outdoor destination, has this season ensured to provide a range of transport options that visitors can enjoy while they tour around within the park. From the traditional Emirati Abra, Indian Rickshaw and the Express Train as well as the other means of public transportation between Dubai and the other Emirates to and from Global Village.

Traditional Abras

In co-operation with RTA, Global Village has designed a number of tours along its artificial channel. Ten traditional Emirati Abras run daily tours so visitors can enjoy a tour in Dubai’s clement weather and see the beautiful designs of the pavilion façades from a different angle, away from traffic.
The Abras are directly supervised by RTA to ensure safety and to promote this typically Emirati tradition as a cultural tourist attraction to both residents and tourists. Both the park’s management and the concerned authorities have worked on availing the right routes to all the Abras so visitors can visualize the size of the park and its attractions.

Indian Rickshaw

Outside the park’s gate, the Rickshaws are lined up encouraging visitors to enjoy one of India’s most popular, authentic and at times, easiest means of traditional transport. Many of the park’s visitors have actually come to appreciate this easy, eco-friendly and enjoyable method of touring around Global Village and sometimes using it to commute between the gates and their cars.
The bicycle-driven carriage with seats at the back is equally appreciated by families, the elderly, people with special needs and children as well as youth. After shopping and spending hours inside the park, many people opt for a ride back to the parking spot as shopping bags get heavy.

The Express Train

This small train takes both the little ones as well as their parents on a fun tour around the park. Children can wait for the train at the dedicated station near World Culture Stage. From the small windows children can get a glimpse of all the activities going on at Global Village.

Buses and Taxis

RTA also provides a number of buses to take people from Dubai and the other Emirates to Global Village and vice versa. Visitors can also go green by opting to use buses more often than cars; which will help decrease their respective carbon footprint and eases the traffic. There is also a large number of taxis stationed outside the park to facilitate transport to tourists and residents.

Only for Little Ones

There are many carts for rent near all the park’s gates. While children are pushed around to enjoy the ride, parents can enjoy shopping from more than 65 countries represented in 37 pavilions.
