This year’s Emirates Dubai Rugby Sevens is proving itself a truly global attraction, with broadcasters from all over the world transmitting live coverage or extensive highlights.
Live coverage will be beamed locally in Dubai, and internationally to New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, the UK, the USA, Tonga, Fiji, Samoa, Russia, Brazil, France, Poland, Hungary, Papua New Guinea, the Cook Islands, and throughout Asia.
Extensive highlights will be shown all over the world, including Japan, Canada, and throughout the Middle East, with coverage of the three day event, between November 28 and 30, set to beat last year’s record breaking coverage, which reached 359 million homes in 145 countries, broadcasting 593 hours over three days.
“This is fantastic news, and once again proves just how big an event the Emirates Dubai Rugby Sevens is around the world, and how popular Sevens is as sport,” said Donal Kilalea, the tournament’s Commercial and Operations Director. “Sevens is growing in popularity year on year, as is the Emirates Dubai Rugby Sevens, and now that it’s an Olympic sport that growth will continue apace.”
The International Rugby Board is streaming all the action live online this year, at irbsevens.com. It means that the Emirates Dubai Rugby Sevens can be watched for the first time in every country in the world!

The Emirates Dubai Rugby Sevens takes place between November 28 and 30, to include the IRB Women’s Sevens World Series, the HSBC Sevens World Series and the Invitational Tournament, which this year has over 200 teams and more than 3,000 players taking part.
