@goldsgym_uae The 2013 Gold’s Gym Challenge winner grabs a prize of AED 50,000


The 60 days fitness challenge aimed at fat loss and muscle gain




The 2013 Gold’s Gym UAE Fat to Fit challenge comes to a close with Jocelou Tubosa from Al Wahda Mall club taking home the grand prize worth AED 50,000. Jocelou managed to lose 8.6% fat and gained 3kg of muscle in 60 days and also trimmed down her BMI from 32 to 28.4. The challenge which began in November 2013 was open only to Gold’s Gym UAE members for a period of 60 days with a view to propose and maintain a healthy body. January 25th 2014 marked the grand finale for the 2013 Fat to Fit challenge with 30 contenders qualifying for the Circuit Challenge - the final course that was taken into final calculation to determine the overall winner.
The finale held at Gold’s Gym UAE club, Al Barsha Mall was attended by dignitaries; Mr. Mohammad Khammas CEO, Al Ahli Holding Group, Mr. Ali Al Samahi Head of Ventures, Al Ahli Holding Group and Mr. Nitesh Seebran Chief of Operations, Gold’s Gym UAE. The grand prize worth AED 50,000 was handed over to the winner by Mr. Ali Al Samahi. The other 29 contenders were presented with medals at the finale by Robert Krizanovic Regional Fitness Manager, Gold’s Gym UAE. The Regional Fitness Manager and Chief of Operations of Gold’s Gym UAE were the judging panels for the 2013 Fat to Fit challenge.
Mr. Ali Al Samahi, Head of Ventures, Al Ahli Holding Group expressed his excitement at the Finale and said,
“The 2013 Fat to Fit challenge was a very successful event for Gold’s Gym UAE with more participation and new enhancements including health passports to help members maintain a track record of their workout and calories burnt. The Fat to Fit challenge will return in 2014 with even more advancements for members to maintain a healthy lifestyle.”
A very excited Jocelou Tubosa says, “Exercises and diet helped me achieve this title, I included more of fruits and vegetables in my diet, at the same time avoiding junk food. I have been with Gold’s Gym UAE for more than a year and the constant support, motivation  and inspiration from Gold’s Gym trainers, the group classes and constant workout with weights as well as cardio helped me attain this title.”
Chief of Operations, Nitesh Seebran, Gold’s Gym UAE remarked, “The Circuit Challenge was designed to demonstrate the level of fitness each contestant could withstand regardless of their body weight and body composition. The healthier and fitter the contenders were, greater were their chances of winning the course. We encouraged all participants to practice the final course during the 60 days of the challenge and be ready for the finals.”
Within the span of 60 days, these 30 finalists managed to reach BMI ranges between 19.8 to 33.3, from their normal body composition. All contestants were measured on the initial and final days of the challenge, and the difference in measurements contributed as the major factor in determining the top 30 contenders.
Nitesh also adds saying, “Most of our top 30 contenders have received tremendous support from their personal trainers, understanding the importance and significance of professional help in attaining their fitness goal.  They were able to attain the best results in the shortest possible time with the help of our personal trainers.”
1488 members signed up and registered for Gold’s Gym UAE’s Fat to Fit challenge from across the UAE which later on evolved into one of the region’s largest body transformation programs. Today, these members are leading healthier, happier lifestyles with their determination and dedication towards fitness.
